Every once a month or so you need to clean out your pellet stove pipe if you want your stove to run well. The stove runs on fans that create air flow for the combustion of the wood pellets. If this air flow is restricted even a little bit then your stove won’t burn as well and will be less efficient. So I recommend cleaning your stove at least once a week or after every 5 bags of pellets.
You can use a shop vac to clean your stove and pellet stove pipe. This works decent but if you really want to get your pellet stove pipe clean then you may want to try the leaf blower trick. If you get an electric leaf blower and attach the vacuum part of it to the back of your pellet stove pipe you have an excellent cleaner. All you need to do is turn it on and then it will suck all the ash out of your pellet stove through the pipe and into the air. This is the very best and most thorough way to clean out your pellet stove and pellet stove pipe. It is also the easiest way to do it as well.
